LDK Engineering has extensive experience in dealing with railway Government Regulatory Agencies and industry standards associations. We have been active participants in several key Regulatory and Standards workgroups including:
- Working Group member for Phase I of the U.S. Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Passenger Equipment Safety Standards (PESS).
- Participant in the Railway Safety Advisory Committee (RSAC), Phase II Passenger Safety Working Group;
- Mechanical (General) Task Force
- Mechanical (Safety Appliance) Task Force
- Crashworthiness / Glazing Task Force
- Vehicle / Track Interaction Task Force and Technical Sub-committee
- Emergency Preparedness Task Force
- Headed the Florida Overland eXpress (FOX) technical team during the development of the FRA Safety Regulation (RPA) that covered the design, operation and maintenance of the high-speed rail system.
- Participant in the APTA Passenger Rail Equipment Safety Standards (PRESS) Task Force.
- Technical Advisor for APTA Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance (VIM) Committee.
- Member of Transportation Research Board (TRB) A2M05 Committee on Guided Intercity Passenger Transportation.
- Past Chair of A2M05(2) Safety Subcommittee on Guided Intercity Transportation.
